Grocery Price Comparison — How We Read Flyers

The method

1. A supermarket publishes a weekly flyer.
2. We read it — item, size, regular price, flyer price, discount %.
3. We type it out into a structured note.
4. We post the comparison with the source cited.

That’s the whole process.

What “sourced” means in practice

Every price we publish carries:

• The retailer name (e.g. SPAR)
• The flyer validity dates (e.g. 14–23 April)
• The page reference where the price appeared

If a price is unreadable or unclear, we note it as unverified — we never guess.

What we don’t do

We never repost flyer artwork, photography or logos. Prices and facts are not copyrightable; flyer layout and photography are. We extract the data and rebuild it in our own system.

Why it matters

Cross-store comparison is something no single flyer shows. That’s the product — and it’s free.
