About GroceryCosts

We price the city, so you always know the cost.

We read the flyers. We show the prices plainly, with the dates attached. Free for shoppers — always.

Flyer sources we read

SPAR and Conad. Each note carries the flyer dates.

Cost to shoppers

No account, no catch. The price is the product, not you.

0

Store ranking fees

Nobody pays for a better spot. We publish the price.

How we work

One unglamorous job, done well: track what groceries actually cost, and show you what the flyer says. Numbers, not adjectives.

We read published flyers

The store publishes the flyer. We read it and show you what's in it.

We type out the prices

Each item, size and price pulled into plain numbers you can actually compare.

We compare what is verified

Regular versus sale when the flyer shows both. No invented gaps.

We always cite the source

Every price ties to a flyer and its dates. Authority comes from receipts.

We are different

What Makes GroceryCosts Different

You have plenty of flyers to squint at. Here is why shoppers let the us read them instead.

Neutral by design

We never come at a store. We report the flyer, the product, the price and the dates.

Numbers, not adjectives

No 'amazing', no 'huge'. Just 279 lekë/kg, and where to find it.

Receipts, not promises

Every price names the flyer and the dates it ran. Easy to check.

Free for shoppers

No account, no paywall, no upsell. The price is the product.

Nobody pays to rank

No store can buy a better spot. The cheapest price wins, every time.

The Team

Who reads the flyers

A small independent team in Tirana. We read the flyers; you keep the savings.

David Lee
Prices & Data Lead

David Lee

David runs the weekly cycle at GroceryCosts — flyer intake, price extraction, comparison build, and publication. He is obsessive about sourcing: every price that goes out carries the retailer name and flyer dates. He built the extraction schema that turns a published flyer into a structured price object, and maintains the archive that powers Then vs Now and the cheapest basket index. Based in Tirana. Reads Albanian, English, and Italian flyers.

Jukke Turner
Flyer Reader · SPAR & Conad

Jukke Turner

Jukke reads the SPAR and Conad Albania flyers each week and extracts the prices into our structured format. He is meticulous about details: if the regular price isn't shown, it's marked null, not guessed. He also runs the shelf verification pass — checking that flyer prices match what's actually on the shelf, and flagging discrepancies. Based in Tirana. Regular shopper at both chains.

Weekly shoppers

The big shop, done smarter. Read the flyer prices before you go — not after you've paid.

Families on a budget

When every basket counts, a 22% flyer cut is real money kept in the week. We show you where it is.

Students & flatmates

Staples, sized and priced. Split the list, spot the flyer cuts, spend it on something better.

The diaspora

Watching prices back home from Milan, London or New York — same site, same numbers.

Community & Responsibility Where we stand

The villain is the price. Never the store. Never the shopper.

SPAR, Conad and the rest are the cast, not the enemy. We are the neutral referee who keeps score — and hands the scorecard to you, free.

Free for shoppers

Don't buy without knowing the cost.
